Benefits of participating in the DHRC include:
- Access to annual meetings with key Defense Appropriations staff, as well as House and Senate members of the Appropriations and Armed Services Committees.
- Timely updates on all legislative developments – including hearings, subcommittee and full committee markups, floor action, and conference committee consideration – of the annual Defense Appropriations Act and the National Defense Authorization Act.
- Annual in-person meeting with the CDMRP Director and key program officers, as well as ongoing exchange of ideas with program officers on how to best highlight research funded by the CDMRP.
- Exchange of ideas and best practices among DHRC members, particularly relating to Congressional Fly-ins, and adaptions of advocacy strategies to address barriers to advocacy created by the coronavirus pandemic.
- Members-only website with access to key document, letters and other resources that can be used for individual member advocacy meetings.
- Ability to work collectively to protect and increase the overall level of funding for CDMRP, which allows for more growth for each individual CDMRP program.
